Message from Convener

Thank you for visiting our website, together we turn a new page for gifted education.

We are excited that the Jockey Club “Giftedness Into Flourishing Talents” Project (Project GIFT) is established and commenced in November 2016. I would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for providing generous funding to support this meaningful project. Thanks should also be given to our local and overseas advisors to provide us with valuable advice, and to research investigators from different institutions to join hands with us to organize and implement the project. Without their generous support, the project would not have been possible.

Project GIFT aims to help bring out the best in every student and nurture the gifted and talented through promoting school-based talent development and gifted education in Hong Kong. We will work closely with schools to unfold students’ potential, enhance their creativity and excellence, and facilitate their whole-person development and positive well-being. In addition to bringing positive changes to students, we believe that Project GIFT also has the potential to change the mindset of teachers and parents on talent development and gifted education, and enhance the quality of teaching through an effective model of university-school partnership for sustainable professional development.

With the concerted efforts from different institutions, we expect Project GIFT to be a great success. We will continue to provide the most updated information and progress of our project on this website, and hope you will continue to join us in this exciting journey.
